I am a clinical researcher and speech-language pathologist working in the assessment and rehabilitation of disordered airway protection (coughing and swallowing). The overarching aim of my work is to improve rehabilitation outcomes for individuals living with airway protective dysfunction.
My doctoral studies focused on understanding the physiologic impact of a behavioral rehabilitation exercise, expiratory muscle strength training. In my postdoctoral position I am currently working toward the development of novel assessment methods of swallowing function in older adults.
